at the cross

just an update so far,
some of the guys got together and starting sewing up the bits and pieces of RESCUE. it was great fun hanging with these exciting and dedicated guys.

this is a very important post,
there will be something different for RESCUE 2007.

we will be having a small prayer room, 'at the cross'
its a quieter to go by and really connect with our Saviour, we will be preparing a special booklet that you will receive upon entering the room. the booklet will guide you on the prayer experience.

we really hope that the prayer room would be utilized because we should never underestimate the power of our prayers :)

the prayer sessions can begin anytime before RESCUE and even after as well.

the reason i am posting this now is because then you can also tell your friends about this special thing that we will also be having.

bring the lost home :)

counting down

i looked back to the cross, back to the One, to the love that held Him there for us, back to the place, that i was set free, where His arms are wide enough for me, everything i want, for all that i ever need, i look back to the cross
Back to the Cross, by 'Our Heart's Hero'

crunch time.
yummy
:)
anyways, as we approach the coming days, dear rescuers, we know that its by the Lord's strength that has brought this far.

just to tell you about .. maybe in the near future we will plan to copyright 'RESCUE' haha.
but no, the salvation rescue plan is for everyone.
and in saying this, the next few days are crucial, there is not many better opportunities to bring your friends to a church event than for RESCUE.

grab a flyer, speak up, share your love for Christ with the ones who just need it as much as we do.

tomorrow (tuesday) some of us will be working on some major refurbishments for RESCUE to the sanctuary. pray for our safety:)

have a great week, hope you are excited about RESCUE as much as me. i just cant wait to see the lost returning to Jesus.

the morning after i shall arise

hello fellow rescuers.

its been hard for me the past few days, really emotional burdened cumulating from worship leading, rescuing, all the personal stuff going on.

i dont feel like ive climbed myself out of this predicament but i do know where i am going.
o i regret to say that i feel defeated in this battle. during my quiet times with God, i just felt Him telling me how much i need Him.

i have not been abandoned, no i have not been, deserted or forgotten, i need You

when the work of Lord is done, just as evident in my recent posts, the attacks come harder. i felt the brunt of it, as i am not fully guarded with the only thing that protects us from the evil one.
the WORD OF GOD.

let us equip ourselves, just like how Paul refers to us putting on the armor of God.

Rescue will carry on.
pray for matt in thailand, pray for the video production team, pray for our worship band, pray for our youths as we gear ourselves for this rescue mission, pray for the people that will come, pray for our generation.

the fatty aint a german

so i got a shocker today. one of the interviewees mentioned to me that the head of student affairs wanted to see me. it was something about the interviews we doing around campus.

ahh.. so i hurried off to see him after my class.

and guess what, we had some complaints about the way we conducted our interviews.

One american, and one german (nick) has being going around asking people about Christianity.
i guess they forgot to mention the two other malaysians who are probably not as noticeable:)

it was not much of a problem. the guy was cool about it. i just had to mention that the german was a UCSI student and the american is just lost-kidding- had the license to roam (remember?)
anyways - to clarify everything- and i thought universities were places of openness and learning different cultures. at the end, everything was settled.

i went back filled with joy! from this i know we were already poking the devil's behind. how else would anything/anyone make an attempt so futilely to stop the Lord's great work. i cant tell you all how much foothold we have already gained in the enemy's territory.
we already have so many peoples of different backgrounds sharing their thoughts for our Easter presentation. and who are so willing just to come and hear our GREAT SALVATION story.

o i pray we do not stop here. we press on.

tim.

rescue so far...

matt, wilson, and i had a great time speaking to many wonderful people today. or should i say yesterday. :)
its just so great to see and hear so many people so openly just sharing with us their lives and thoughts about easter. i hope matt liked my coll :) since now he has the 'license to roam'

just like to share with the people involved in the organization of Rescue. its not about us, at times we forget who really needs the message. we find ourselves caught up in the wind of a successful rally that we do not see His purpose. i hope we find that.

i think its great to work with so many dedicated people. just as how we ran the metamorphosis camp.
anyways.
- i did not actually have a tenth song. *phew.

interviews went so well, i was really surprised at the bulk of footage we got. and im really glad we did it.

as for the songs concerned for RESCUE-
  • yes, we need to adjust the tempo of the songs
  • we will also do something in terms of the flow of songs
  • i would preferably not change the order, so we'll work around it i guess
  • thanks for the level of commitment of the musicians, lets do it for the glory of God

order of songs as of today
  1. come and listen.
  2. the wonderful cross.
  3. glory of it all.
  4. fire fall down.
  5. none but Jesus.
  6. from the inside out.
  7. amazing grace my chains are gone.
  8. salvation is here.
  9. here is our king.

hopefully we get another day of fruitful interviews and as we begin work on the video edit,
keep praying for RESCUE

thoughts for worship

hi, this is what i have come to put together for our worship order for rescue night.
thanks for the pestering, bryan. though i am still considering on your proposal to lead a song;)

order of songs is more or less as i have numbered.

1. Come and Listen (by David Crowder)
a simple song, just to lead the people into a mood for worship. we really are just telling them a story on that night.
let me tell you, what He, has done for me, He has done for you, He has done for us.

2. The Wonderful Cross (Isaac Watts,
JD Walt, chorus added by Chris Tomlin, Jeese Reeves)
the story of Easter revolves around the cross. our sins ended there. the chorus amplifies that message of love and sacrifice.

3. The Glory of It All (by David Crowder)
i have not ever seen my baptism pictures, because they were never taken. thus sometimes, it just goes by me and i know its all a symbol, but to me, it was still a defining moment. to say, i believe in my Jesus.
i never really told anyone, but the first time i heard this song, i was at Passion 07. at that time, i was just so overwhelmed by the words and meaning of the song, i closed my eyes. at that moment, i saw myself at the very baptism pool again. i saw the beginning of everything God in me. i re-knew my Saviour.
i hope the message comes through for everyone.
oh the Glory of it, is You came here, for the rescue of us all, that we may live...

4. Fire Fall Down (by Matt Crocker)
despite the implications the title may have, the reason i chose the song was for the verse that implies the giving of ourselves.
when the song comes to the bridge, we just ask God -
show me Your Glory .
just like Moses, and man did his face shine even with just the glimpse of God's back.

5. From the Inside Out (by Joel Houston)
the human heart is always searching. be it the temporary, but i hope we guide our generation to bring our praises right from the depths of our souls just to praise Him.
its the cry of hearts for something permanent, something everlasting. only to be achieved by Jesus.

6. None but Jesus (by Brooke Fraser)
the message of the song, is more of leading to ponder upon Jesus, crucified for us.

7. Amazing Grace, My Chains are Gone (by John Newton, rearranged by Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio)
no one wants to be a slave. sometimes its not up to us whether we are able to break free from these chains. in the old days, there were even people who were born slaves.
o Glorious God, only You hold the chains of my twisted human life, our slavery from sin.
this would be the call song for the night.

8. Salvation is Here (by Joel Houston)
a proclamation, rescue by salvation is here!

9. Here is our King (by David Crowder)
Majesty, finally. the King has rescued us.

there's another song which i do not recall at the moment, but i will put in my next posting.

pianist - niki (most probably, thanks dear cousin:))
guitars - marvin, bryan, sarah (thanks for agreeing to play)
drums - andrew (my ever reliable drummer boy, keep ya timing.)
vocals - lydia, wilson, joel (will be requesting you to lead certain songs at certain parts)
