thoughts for worship

hi, this is what i have come to put together for our worship order for rescue night.
thanks for the pestering, bryan. though i am still considering on your proposal to lead a song;)

order of songs is more or less as i have numbered.

1. Come and Listen (by David Crowder)
a simple song, just to lead the people into a mood for worship. we really are just telling them a story on that night.
let me tell you, what He, has done for me, He has done for you, He has done for us.

2. The Wonderful Cross (Isaac Watts,
JD Walt, chorus added by Chris Tomlin, Jeese Reeves)
the story of Easter revolves around the cross. our sins ended there. the chorus amplifies that message of love and sacrifice.

3. The Glory of It All (by David Crowder)
i have not ever seen my baptism pictures, because they were never taken. thus sometimes, it just goes by me and i know its all a symbol, but to me, it was still a defining moment. to say, i believe in my Jesus.
i never really told anyone, but the first time i heard this song, i was at Passion 07. at that time, i was just so overwhelmed by the words and meaning of the song, i closed my eyes. at that moment, i saw myself at the very baptism pool again. i saw the beginning of everything God in me. i re-knew my Saviour.
i hope the message comes through for everyone.
oh the Glory of it, is You came here, for the rescue of us all, that we may live...

4. Fire Fall Down (by Matt Crocker)
despite the implications the title may have, the reason i chose the song was for the verse that implies the giving of ourselves.
when the song comes to the bridge, we just ask God -
show me Your Glory .
just like Moses, and man did his face shine even with just the glimpse of God's back.

5. From the Inside Out (by Joel Houston)
the human heart is always searching. be it the temporary, but i hope we guide our generation to bring our praises right from the depths of our souls just to praise Him.
its the cry of hearts for something permanent, something everlasting. only to be achieved by Jesus.

6. None but Jesus (by Brooke Fraser)
the message of the song, is more of leading to ponder upon Jesus, crucified for us.

7. Amazing Grace, My Chains are Gone (by John Newton, rearranged by Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio)
no one wants to be a slave. sometimes its not up to us whether we are able to break free from these chains. in the old days, there were even people who were born slaves.
o Glorious God, only You hold the chains of my twisted human life, our slavery from sin.
this would be the call song for the night.

8. Salvation is Here (by Joel Houston)
a proclamation, rescue by salvation is here!

9. Here is our King (by David Crowder)
Majesty, finally. the King has rescued us.

there's another song which i do not recall at the moment, but i will put in my next posting.

pianist - niki (most probably, thanks dear cousin:))
guitars - marvin, bryan, sarah (thanks for agreeing to play)
drums - andrew (my ever reliable drummer boy, keep ya timing.)
vocals - lydia, wilson, joel (will be requesting you to lead certain songs at certain parts)

bring your friends to RESCUE. especially the ones who do not know the Lord

tim
